Hikin' in the clouds

You probably looked outside your window early Saturday morning or heard your weather forecast and told yourself, “It’s rainy.  What’s there to see out there?  The hike is probably canceled.”  Um, no.  Some of the best days to spend outdoors are rainy: the trails are empty, the colors more vibrant, and the hiking is a little bit tougher because everything’s wet. That pretty much sums up this epic hike up and over Bull Hill at Cold Spring. This was the You're Full of Bull, Cold Spring! Hike.

Original trip description:

Yes, it's gonna be chilly in January, so we're going to do the hard stuff first to get a good sweat going, which means hiking 1,300 feet up the side of Bull Hill for about 90 minutes, after which, the rest is downhill. Bonus, ridic views of Cold Spring, the historic antique capital of NY, and the Hudson River. And that's how we get 2014 kicked off! This trip is rated Easy+ (primarily due to the weather this time of year and that initial climb up Bull Hill). We'll be meeting at Grand Central Station. And here's what gear to pack.
